Juan Orraca L.Ac, MSTCM.

I was initially inspired to study holistic medicine after being mentored by a South American medicine man who was also a practitioner of Chinese Medicine. During this time, I experienced a number of wellness journeys, both in the U.S. and Peru, where I was able to be involved in many healing sessions and numerous mindfulness practices.

These journeys taught me the importance of balancing the mind through meditation, self-awareness, and helping others. I studied how we are able to improve the body through a combination of physical activity, rest, food, and medicine. These experiences undoubtedly shaped and molded the person and practitioner I have become today.

After nearly seven years of experiencing healing in myself and others, I made the decision to pursue a formal education in the art of healing. In 2015 I took this a step further by gaining a Masters of Science in Chinese Medicine from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where I studied a broad range of holistic practices. This led to me obtaining my Board Certification as a Chinese medicine practitioner, licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and nutritional consultant.

As the owner of a wellness clinic, and practitioner, my purpose is to offer individuals a pragmatic holistic health and wellness practice that can transform their lives. To do this I utilize natural healing tools to help develop and strengthen the body’s healing potential. Just as we’re able to recognize the incredible regenerative power found in nature, so also the human body has the ability to regenerate, enhance, and protect itself. As a Chinese medicine herbalist, I teach clients that we can use the natural world around us to support and strengthen our self-healing abilities, especially when these innate abilities have been weakened or depleted. When you enter my practice, I will guide you on a journey of self-discovery, and do all that I can to help you to reach your optimum health.

To demonstrate my gratitude to my mentor and his work in Peru, I volunteer with the Paititi Institute for the Preservation of the Amazon Rain Forest & Indigenous Culture. This involves me visiting the Amazon from time to time, to participate in cultural medicine exchange events with the local indigenous population, as well as researching food therapies and natural remedies.

I was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and speak fluent Spanish.

When I’m not practicing Chinese medicine, I love to spend time with my wife Olga, our baby Marco, and our dog Max.

Olga Orraca L.Ac, MSTCM

Olga graduated with a Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MS.TCM) from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CSTCM) in Denver. She is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist. During school, Olga had an amazing opportunity to study under her mentor and friend Kathryn R. Kummer, L.Ac, Dipl. OM, who taught Olga how to excel with treatments using electroacupuncture, dietary, and lifestyle recommendations. She is professionally trained in the arts of Chinese acupuncture, Tui Na massage, and moxibustion and is a skilled herbalist.

After graduating CSTCM in 2015 Olga continued working alongside her mentor Kathryn Kummer, L.Ac at “Harmony Healing” (TCM clinic) in Denver. In August 2020 she and her husband relocated to Wilmington, NC, where they both practice Chinese medicine at their alternative medicine clinic “Optimum Vitality”.

Her focus is working with stress and other emotional issues, musculoskeletal pain, and weight loss management, along with women’s health, but welcomes the opportunity to treat whatever ailments arise within the human body.

With each of her patients, Olga seeks to achieve balance and heal the whole body on a physical, emotional, and energetic level. She is a compassionate listener and works closely with the patient to uncover the root cause of “dis-ease” and transform the body back to harmony.

Outside of acupuncture, Olga’s interests include hiking, enjoying the outdoors, meditation, and travel. What makes her the happiest, is to spend time with friends and family, and follow her passion to help others live active, fulfilled lives.

Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.
